R U OK Day

09/14/2017 10:00 am 09/14/2017 03:00 pm Australia/Melbourne R U OK Day

R U OK? Day is a national day of action dedicated to inspiring all Australians to ask family, friends and colleagues, ‘Are you ok?’ By regularly reaching out to one another and having open and honest conversations, we can all help build a more connected community and reduce our country’s high suicide rate.

Get involved in the events taking place at the Parkville campus and have a conversation.

The coffee’s on us at the Conversation Cafe 10am - 12pm

On R U OK? Day we’re inviting you to make time to reconnect with a friend or colleague at our Conversation Cafes. Register you interest to book a table at Parkville. We'll supply a free coffee and you supply the conversation.

“Carpool Conversations” – Free parking when you bring a friend 7am - 6pm
Have you ever noticed how words come easier when you're chatting in the car? Do you get into deep conversations you didn’t plan on having? That’s because good conversations start in places that feel private, comfy and where you don’t get interrupted.

This year, to recognise the power of Carpool Conversations, we’re offering free parking on R U OK? Day for those that bring a friend on their trip to campus. For more information, or to register, visit the Carpool Conversation pages for Parkville.

The Conversation Corner  10am - 3pm

The Parkville Conversation Corner will house various free activities throughout the day to encourage staff and students to start up a conversation including: massages, origami, cookie decorating, nail bar and more).

Conversation for a Cupcake 12 - 2pm
The Parkville clubs are getting creative in the kitchen and whipping up an array of delicious treats which will be given away in exchange for a conversation so get your tongues wagging to grab a bite.
