Amanda Cross named Early Career Pharmacist of the Year
Centre for Medicine Use and Safety (CMUS) PhD graduate Dr Amanda Cross was named Early Career Pharmacist of the Year at last week’s Annual Victorian Pharmacists Dinner.
The ceremony recognises dedicated members of the pharmacy profession who work tirelessly to improve the quality of healthcare within the community.
Dr Amanda Cross was awarded the inaugural Victorian Early Career Pharmacist of the Year in recognition of her research on addressing potentially inappropriate medication use among people attending memory clinics.
Dr Cross also works to address medication safety through her work as a community pharmacist and as a Home Medicines Review pharmacist.
The Early Career Pharmacist is recognised as an individual with less than ten years of experience as a practising pharmacist but has made a significant achievement in an area of excellence over their career.
Since her PhD completion, Dr Cross has started a postdoctoral research role with the Monash Department of Clinical Epidemiology at Cabrini Hospital.
