Monash Pharmacy student awarded prestigious scholarship
Monash University Pharmacy student Jessica Bailey has been awarded the prestigious Academy for Emerging Leaders in Patient Safety Scholarship.
Jessica, who is currently working as an intern at the Alfred Hospital, received one of only three scholarships available nationally for pharmacy graduates.
The program includes the opportunity to participate in a four day workshop with other young health professionals, teachers and patient advocates.
The workshop will provide an interactive experience, where participants explore current patient safety issues and strategies that will help make a difference in improving patient care.
Jessica hopes the program will bring a fresh perspective on how to optimise patient safety in the workplace.
“I'm looking forward to the opportunity to learn how to identify patient safety issues, develop strategies to improve these issues and learn how to overcome barriers that may impede process! Ultimately i want to drive safer, more effective practice,” she said.
