Bad Super Bugs No Super Drugs
Increasing antibiotic resistance to our current arsenal of antibiotics is causing global concern. In this project the student will develop novel treatments targeted towards a particularly dangerous colonic infection caused by the bacterium Enterococcus faecium. Already with potent and novel starting points, this project will rapidly translate to exciting and publishable results.
This project offers the opportunity of a placement at the Peter Doherty Institute, supervised by Glen Carter, undertaking assessment of in vitro and in vivo antibiotic activity
