High school work experience

If you are a high school student interested in undertaking work experience with Drug Discovery Biology, contact us to enquire about placement opportunities.


If you are a current student at Monash University or another Australian university, you can apply for the summer and winter research scholarship. The six-week research scholarships are run over the summer and winter breaks and they aim to provide you with:

  • experience in an area of research
  • an insight into future opportunities within research
  • encouragement to pursue a career in research or academia

If you are a current or recently graduated student that wants to volunteer in a lab, you can contact us to enquire about volunteer research opportunities. You can also visit our lab pages and contact the lab heads directly.


You can carry out your Honours year with Drug Discovery Biology by applying for Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science (Honours) degree offered at Monash University Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The honours degree is a one-year full time program where you will undertake research methodology training and carry out an independent research project on your selected topic.


You can pursue your PhD with Drug Discovery Biology by applying for our enhanced doctoral program. Drug Discovery Biology offers an elite four-year doctoral program that consists of three six-week laboratory rotations and an advanced course in Drug Discovery and Development in the first year. The rotation model enables candidates to make an informed choice of their final area of research prior to commencement of their three-year PhD project. Contact us to enquire about your eligibility.
