Project Pharmacist


As a leading centre for pharmacists' education, the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has established Project Pharmacist to contribute to the development of professional career opportunities for current and future pharmacists.

Based within the Centre for Medicine Use and Safety, Project Pharmacist aims to facilitate the sustainable implementation of professional models of practice which will enable pharmacists in primary care to appropriately address the needs of patients and the Australian healthcare system.

Project objectives

To promulgate:

  • an evidence based framework for pharmacists' practice aligned with the wider health system;
  • an environment that supports the implementation of patient and outcome focused models of pharmaceutical care;
  • professionally rewarding roles for current practitioners and new graduates.
