Recommended computer and internet requirements
Having the appropriate computer configuration is essential to your success as a postgraduate coursework student. Our courses and units are delivered online. You will need to use a computer to access learning resources, discussion blocks, prepare your assessments, undertake research, make notes, and communicate with your lecturers, tutors, support staff, and other students.
As a Monash student you have access to a number of free or low-cost computer programs via the Monash eSolutions online software catalogue. If you are interested in acquiring any study-related software, such as Microsoft Office or EndNote, please visit the eSolutions software catalogue.
my.monash portal is the gateway to a range of learning and teaching related services, such as your student email account, Moodle, WES, the Pharmacy Library and ask.monash.
You can log into the portal from any computer or mobile device. All you need is access to the internet and your Authcate username and password. To log in just go to http://my.monash.edu.au
At enrolment you were issued with a Monash email account with 25GB of storage space. This account is the only email address the Faculty and the University will use to communicate with you. Remember to check your Monash email on a regular basis (at least twice a week).
Your student email account can be accessed via the ‘Email’ tile from your my.monash portal .
The Web Enrolment System (WES)
WES is the online student system that allows you manage your enrolment. Through WES you will be able to:
- enrol, re-enrol and discontinue units
- apply for intermission (study leave)
- view your fee statements and payment history
- access your final results
- update your personal details
- apply to graduate and track your application
- purchase letters and academic records.

Moodle is your online virtual learning environment. Through Moodle you will be able to access your unit outlines and course materials, participate in discussion forums, download your assessment tasks, and submit your assignments (see Moodle access dates).

The current postgraduate coursework student's website has been especially designed to help you find key administrative information related to your enrolment. For example, how to manage your enrolment (enrol in units, discontinue units, apply for intermission); how to plan your course enrolment (view course and unit requirements, view course maps and select units); how to access support services (learning skills advisers and counselling); how to purchase student letters and academic transcripts; how to pay fees; how to apply for graduation, and more.
