Employability
Our courses are designed with specific employment outcomes in mind.
Pharmacy students are prepared to begin their careers in community or hospital pharmacy; pharmaceutical science students are trained for careers in research, the biotech sector and allied industries.
To that end, our educational leaders meet regularly with a group of industry advisors to ensure that the skills and knowledge contained in the courses align with the present and future needs of industry.
We also have several initiatives that explicitly focus on employability, giving students the opportunity to network, gain knowledge of their industry and practice their interviewing and presentation skills.
- Employability Intensive: Part of the pharmaceutical science course. A one-week program to tour major workplaces, meet prospective employers and learn skills ranging from pitching to CV writing
- Careers Fairs: Annual events that enable our students to meet employers from across the pharmacy and pharmaceutical science industries
- Experiential learning: The fourth pillar of our educational approach. This ensures our students get the chance to apply their skills in the workplace
