Hello, my name is Trisha Prpich and I’m very happy to be welcoming you to our on campus communities.
As the Director of MRS, my responsibility is to ensure that all residents have the best possible experience whilst living on-campus at Monash University.
The ResStart resource is designed to help residents settle into their new home here at Monash with some practical advice as well as vignettes from members of our communities talking about their own personal experiences in Res.
The most important asset you have for settling into University life is your Residential Support Team, and your Residential Advisor (RA) in particular. MRS prides itself on the quality of our pastoral care and residential support and this comes primarily though our volunteer RAs. They, along with the staff in your Residential Support Team are the best place for you to seek assistance and support in your new home.
Please accept my sincere welcome to MRS, I hope that your experiences here match (and indeed exceed) your expectations.
What is MRS?
Monash Residential Services, or MRS as it is also known, was established in order to provide on campus accommodation to Monash University’s Australian Campuses. MRS also provides off campus housing services to all Monash students. This includes information regarding off campus housing options, listings of web based Off-campus housing property search engines and assistance with tenancy issues and disputes.
When you live at MRS, you are part of one of 14 different residential communities based at the Clayton and Peninsula. Although separate – our communities often come together for activities (especially in orientation), and are all part of the MRS family.
More information about the work of MRS, including our mission and strategic direction can be found here.
If you would like to hear what some of our residents and their families have to say about moving into Halls and living in our Urban Community at the Clayton Campus, then check out this video below!
