Responding to disclosures of sexual assault

Facilitated by the South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault (SECASA), these sessions are designed for staff and students to provide a greater understanding of how they can:

  • recognise why it may be difficult for survivors to come forward
  • respond to a disclosure empathetically
  • ensure an appropriate response that does not further traumatise or harm the survivor
  • know their obligations around confidentiality
  • and understand how to manage your own response to hearing disclosures.
Audience: Staff and students
