Responding to disclosures of sexual assault

Facilitated by SECASA (the South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault), these sessions are designed for staff and students which provide attendees with a greater understanding of how they can:

  • recognise why it may be difficult for survivors to come forward;
  • respond to a disclosure empathetically;
  • ensure an appropriate response that does not further traumatise or harm the survivor;
  • know their obligations around confidentiality; and
  • understand how to manage your own response to hearing disclosures.
Running time: 2 hours
Maximum capacity: 60 people
