Monash Sport is extremely pumped to present our all-new event for 2019; Zumba After Dark. Ditch the workout and join the party this Winterfest for a night bursting with colour, energy, giveaways and entertainment.

Pre-event Entertainment 

Arrive by 6pm to catch some of our amazing performances - including the Monash Modern Jazz club (MMJ), Monash Club Juggling and Fire-twirling, (MCJAF), and the Korean Appreciation Student Association (KASA) and Aurora Flair to get the night started! Clayton pre-event entertainment will start outside our Monash Sport facilities, leading you into our event!



Monash Sport is excited to present Zumba After Dark 2019. We welcome our Monash Sport community to join us for a FREE night fueled by colourful energy, your favourite hip hop, '80s, Latin, RnB and pop tracks, Zumba and prizes!

Partygoers will be immersed in all things Winterfest with the Monash Sport Slushie Bar, Snack Station, Photo Booth, pumping music and Zumba moves to get you dancing this winter! Zumba After Dark is the perfect opportunity to give Zumba a go and shake your hips with friends for your chance to win prizes! Our spaces will be fluorescent and get you glowing with the fiesta that is Zumba.

What is Zumba After Dark?

Zumba After Dark is a Dance party with a difference. Partygoers can expect a fun and exhilarating night filled with amazing instructors, vibrant lighting, Slushie Bar, Snack Station, Photo Booth, pumping tunes, and awesome dance moves to get you moving this winter!

We are always looking for new ideas to engage our entire community and as a part of Winterfest 2019, we are hosting Zumba After Dark to highlight workouts can be fun, engaging, vibrant and different every day. Encouraging participation in our health and wellbeing activities can promote an active and enjoyable university life experience, emphasise a positive work-life balance and a great opportunity to meet like-minded people.

We feel the Zumba After Dark vibe encapsulates the Monash Sport member experience with vibrant, exciting, active and inclusive opportunities that everyone can enjoy. We look forward to ditching the workout and enjoying the party with you.

Who can attend our Zumba After Dark event?

We are thrilled to invite all Monash University staff, students and community members aged 16 years and older to attend our Clayton and Caulfield events.

At Zumba After Dark Peninsula, we have limited tickets available to our Monash Sport members and Monash University staff and students. In the instance of more tickets becoming available, we will let our community know via this webpage, our registration page and Facebook event.

Is this event suitable for children? 

Persons attending the event must be 16 years of age or over.

Do I need a ticket?

Although Zumba After Dark is a FREE event, registrations are essential to make sure we have enough room for everyone!

What is Zumba?

Zumba is a program which fuses Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness dance program.

Our Zumba After Dark event will tie in many genres of dance styles which will include 70;s, 80’s, 90’s, Retro, Pop, Latin, Hip Hop and many more. Our event is not just Zumba, but a mix of dancing, music, games and one in a Winterfest experiences for you to enjoy.

I have never tried Zumba before, is this OK?

Yes, of course! This event caters for all skill levels and really just requires a can-do attitude to attend. To help you get in the groove we have games, food and drink stations, a photo booth and pumping tunes happening all event long.

What amenities will be available for this event?

Toilets and change room facilities are available onsite at all 3 venues. There will be signage to help direct you on the night.

What can I wear? 

We recommend workout, comfy clothing for you to move and groove to the beat of Zumba. We encourage everyone to dress up, get your glow on and even go matching for those bringing a friend along. Remember, it’s Zumba After Dark, so wear something that will light you up as you will want to GLOW!

What do I need to bring?

  • Bring a sweat towel**
  • Your energetic colourful self!
  • And positive vibes!

*&** Water bottles and sweat towels will also be available for purchase on the night

Where can I put my belongings?

Lockers are available in the change room facilities however there are limited spaces so we encourage you to travel light.

What will be provided on the night?

Lights snacks and drinks will be provided to those who are attending the event.

Do I need to attend the whole event?

It’s completely up to you. But we know how much fun you will be having and you won’t want to leave! Doors open at 6pm with pre-Zumba entertainment to get the festivities started. Zumba will commence at 6.30pm. We encourage you to make the most of this Winterfest opportunity and invite everyone to attend for as long as they like. We will have rest stations set up for you to take a break and change rooms for you to utilise on the night.

Is this event accessible friendly? 


Clayton - A wheelchair accessible ramp is available at the Scenic Boulevard main entrance to Monash Sport.

Caulfield - Ground level access to Chisholm Hall

Peninsula - ramp access outside the main entrance to Monash Sport

Getting There

Car parking is available on all campuses in close proximity to Monash Sport.

Clayton - parking is available on campus in close proximity to Monash Sport. The closest car park to Monash Sport is the south-east car park, highlighted pink on the university parking map which is free after 4pm.

Caulfield - parking is available on campus in close proximity to Monash Sport, however, please note parking restrictions are in place around campus.

Peninsula - parking is available on campus after 4pm on weekdays, you can park for free in the blue permit, red permit and pink (metered) parking areas. Please note: S2 car park, highlighted in purple is unavailable for parking at all times.

Public Transport - The link below lists public transport connections to and between our campuses, including trains, buses and trams. Monash University public transport

Inter-campus shuttle bus - Regular, free shuttle buses (with free Wi-Fi) link our Clayton campus with our Caulfield and Peninsula campuses and our Peninsula campus to Frankston Railway Station. Just show your valid Monash student or staff card to use the service, which also accepts children, aged under four. Inter-campus shuttle bus



Onsite parking is available at Clayton Campus. The ticketed and blue permit zones become free after 4pm. Please ensure to carefully read the parking signs.

Overflow parking is available at the Synchrotron on the corner of Wellington Road & Blackburn Road. Just a 5min walk from Monash Sport.

The campus will be alive and busy on the event night, so make sure you leave yourself enough time to find parking.


Multi-level - non-permit holders can purchase tickets and park on the rooftop of the multi level car park off Princes Avenue.

Monash University staff and students who hold a blue permit can park in the blue & red permit areas within the multi-level after 5pm.

Caulfield Racecourse - Ticketed parking is available at the Caulfield Racecourse. This car park closes at 9pm.

The campus will be alive and busy on the event night, so make sure you leave yourself enough time to find parking.
