Analyse sources
When analysing a source, interrogate the following:
- its purpose and any assumptions it makes
- its structure
- its use of evidence and reasoning
- its limitations and biases
- any patterns or themes you uncover.
Your interrogation can build on your preliminary questioning.
When you analyse multiple sources (for example in a literature review or an essay), you can compare and contrast your analysis of individual sources by using an analytical matrix or a mind map.
