MonTRACK: Calling all new-to-Monash students
What is MonTRACK?
MonTRACK is a transition program where we call all students in their first year at Monash. We'll chat with you about how you're settling into Monash and see if you need any help.
Who are we?
We're senior students who have been through the highs and lows of adjusting to university and survived. We'll identify ourselves as calling on behalf of MonTRACK. All undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students are eligible for MonTRACK calls. We then do it all again in semester two.
Just so you know, each semester is made up of 12 weeks of teaching and Orientation Week is week zero.
It's about getting help before it's too late
It's a great opportunity to ask questions and get any help you might need. We'll also have a few handy tips along the way.
What do I need to do?
You just need to keep your contact details up-to-date in the Web Enrolment System.
If, however, you're feeling settled and don't want a call, you can opt-out of the program by letting us know when we call - or submit the online opt-out form.
Some comments from first-year students
Read what some students have said about the phone calls:
"I found this program really important in feeling a sense of belonging in the Monash Community. I felt I was able to connect with the person who made the call as they are in a similar situation to me and understand the struggles and advantages of being a first year uni student."
"Very good program. Would definitely recommend such programs to continue to run for future first years. It aids in the transition and provides a sense of comfort that individuals on Monash are there to help students should it be required."
"The advisers were all so warm and friendly."
