Tenancy law changes you need to know

As of 28 March, some tenancy laws have changed.

Key changes that may impact you:

  • All residential tenancy COVID emergency laws end
    • 'Notice to Vacate' for rent arrears and other reasons can again be served
    • Rent increases can be given
  • Some terminology has changed
    • Landlords are now called rental/ residential providers
    • Tenants are now called renters
  • The condition report for renters is now more extensive so if you're renting, make sure you go through every point one by one
