About Student Conduct and Special Circumstances
Our purpose
To protect the safety and wellbeing of University students and staff and provide support to all parties involved in matters of general misconduct. We aim to ensure Monash University takes a consistent approach to student general misconduct and prevents misconduct from occurring.
Reporting
We report misconduct cases anonymously to the University's senior executive, identifying trends and looking for opportunities to make systemic improvement.

Our principles
When handling a report of general misconduct, decision-makers are bound by the principles of natural justice. This means that students have the right to:
- be informed of the allegations against them and be provided with a reasonable opportunity to respond to the allegations
- be provided with a reasonable opportunity to respond to the allegations
- have the allegations determined by an unbiased decision-maker.
