Assistance at Monash University

Safer Community Unit

The Safer Community Unit provides a gateway to sound advice and support, and referral to professional help for vulnerable individuals and those concerned for them or impacted by suicidal behaviour.

Where the risk of suicide is assessed as serious and imminent, the Safer Community Unit, in consultation with internal and external services, will mobilise rapid emergency interventions to reduce the risk.

We promote a suicide-alert community aimed at early identification of vulnerable individuals. We encourage early help-seeking behaviour.
