Orientation
Orientation (run by Monash Abroad) is compulsory, as it is a really important part of getting settled into Monash – we give you lots of information you won't find elsewhere, so you should make sure you organise your travel to arrive in time.
Monash Abroad Orientation takes place two weeks before the start of semester, and a week before university-wide orientation week (usually mid-February and early-mid July) – have a look at the key dates.
Programs and evening activities
We'll email you the appropriate orientation program well before you leave home, but you can check the details earlier.
We'll help you settle in with helpful information sessions, and interactive activities where you can meet new people from around the world.
The Monash Student Association (MSA) organises activities just for Monash Abroad students, which in the past have included a movie and pizza night, a trip to the Eureka Tower in the city, and a visit to the Queen Victoria Night Market to sample some of Melbourne's delicious food offerings. MSA also organise events and camps available to all students throughout the semester which you can join. Find out more at their website here.
Monash also organises a university-wide orientation program which you can take part in. You can find useful resources and upcoming events at their website here.
