About Bogazici University

Bogazici University (BU) was founded in 1863 as Robert College, and was the first American higher education institution founded outside the United States. The main South campus looks out onto the Bosphorus strait in Istanbul, and is nested next to the ancient fortress, Rumeli Hisari. BU’s additional campuses, North Campus, Hisar Campus, and Uçaksavar Campus are relatively recently acquired facilities and are all walking distance from the main South Campus.
