New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants
New Colombo Plan Mobility Program funding has been awarded to Monash University by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) as part of a signature initiative that aims to lift the knowledge of the Indo-Pacific within Australia and to strengthen our people-to-people and institutional relationships.
A selection of semester exchange and global study tours have been allocated New Colombo Plan (NCP) Mobility Program funding. These grants are available for students who meet the eligibility criteria outlined below.
You do not need to apply for these grants, as your eligibility will be automatically assessed by Monash University if you are accepted into a program with NCP Mobility Program funding.
Semester-length exchange programs
A limited number of grants up to $7,000 each are available to Monash University students for study at selected exchange partners.
Students who meet the eligibility requirements for the New Colombo Plan Mobility Program (see below) will be automatically assessed by Monash Abroad for a grant. You do not need to complete a separate application in order to be considered.
These grants are awarded on the basis of academic merit (the WAM in the student’s current degree at the time of being accepted by their host institution).
Successful recipients are notified by Monash Abroad of the funding outcome after they have been accepted into the exchange program, and they must accept the grant to receive payment.
Grants are available for the following NCP-funded locations:
- China
- Hong Kong
- India
- Japan
- Republic of Korea
- Singapore
- Taiwan
- Thailand
Global study tours
A small number of undergraduate overseas study tours have been awarded NCP Mobility Program funding. If you are participating in a global study tour, the unit coordinator will advise you if NCP funding is available.
All enquiries about global study tours should be directed to the faculty running the program - you can also consult the global study tour's entry in the Monash handbook for information on the academic staff coordinating the unit.
