Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) Remote European Studies Summer School | July 5 -July 23, 2021 | The LMU Summer School is offering the unit 'The European Union in Crisis: analysing the past, the present and the future of European Co-operation' to Monash students for study in July. Seminar sessions will be held online via Zoom and students get access to LMU’s e-learning platform Moodle for homework and self-study assignments. Ljubljana Summer School | July 5 -July 23, 2021 | Ljubljana Summer School is a 3-week internationally recognized program, first launched in July 2000. The program is organized and run by the School of Economics and Business of the University of Ljubljana. In 2019, they celebrated the 20th anniversary with first-generation alumni and more than 400 participants from all over the world who attended 25 units. In 2020, they offered seven different online units and welcomed 129 participants from 20 countries. Monash students can choose from 27 online units at undergraduate and graduate level, taught by 29 highly qualified academics from 18 different countries and 26 institutions. Mishpatim Seminar - Israeli and International Law | 4 - 29 January 2021 | This program is offered by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel (HUJI). It introduces you to the Israeli legal system and explores current issues at the core of the Israeli legal debate. You’ll examine key questions regarding the identity of the Israeli state, including Jerusalem, the Palestinian population in Israel and the Occupied Territories, and the status of refugees. The curriculum touches on a variety of highly relevant topics including international criminal law, constitutional law, human rights, immigration and refugee law, and legal aspects of counterterrorism. Kobe Japanese Program | 6 - 27 January 2021 | The Kobe Japanese Program (KJP) January Session is designed for undergraduate or graduate students with upper elementary Japanese language skills. The focus of the course is Japanese Language and Area Studies, including culture and society, based on the Kobe and Hyogo area and its links with Australia. ACICIS Indonesian Language Short Course | 6 Week Program 11 January – 19 February 2021 3 Week Programs Session 1: 11 – 29 January 2021 Session 2: 1 – 19 February 2021 | The ACICIS Indonesian Language Short Course (ISLC) program provides intensive Indonesian language training for students from introductory to advanced levels. Running in three-week sessions during university vacation periods, students can undertake the program either to fast-track or supplement language studies at their home university, or, for those students exploring an emerging interest in Indonesia, as an immersive introduction to the Indonesian language. Students can choose to complete one 3 week ISLC program or the full 6 week ISLC program. The program consists of intensive Indonesian language tuition incorporating language classes and interactive cultural experiences. Students may take either a single three-week course, or two consecutive three-week courses to create a six-week program of study (January-February only). ACICIS Business Professional Practicum | 4 January – 12 February 2021 | The Business Professional Practicum (BPP) is a virtual six-week program that consists of intensive Indonesian language study at Atma Jaya University, industry-led English language seminars, and a supervised industry placement with a local or international firm operating in Indonesia. The BPP provides an opportunity for students of business, management and marketing, or early career business professionals, to gain valuable experience working in the field of business and commerce in Indonesia. Host Organisations are drawn from a wide range of Jakarta’s business and industry sectors including: banking and finance, infrastructure and mining, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), creative industries, the Indonesian Stock Exchange, Indonesian Ministries of Finance and Trade, as well as chambers of commerce. ACICIS Law Professional Practicum | 4 January – 12 February 2021 | The Law Professional Practicum (LPP) is a six-week program that consists of intensive Indonesian language instruction at Atma Jaya University, English language lectures by local legal practitioners and experts in the field of law, and a supervised practicum placement with a local or international legal firm, government authority or non-government organisation (NGO). ACICIS Agriculture Professional Practicum | 4 January – 12 February 2021 | The Agriculture Professional Practicum (APP) is a six-week program that consists of intensive Indonesian language instruction at Atma Jaya University, English language lectures by local practitioners and experts in the fields of agriculture, food science, environment and resource management, and a supervised practicum placement with a local or international agricultural, agribusiness, or resource management organisation. ACICIS Public Health Study Tour Program | December Program: 6 – 19 December 2020 January Program: 16 – 30 January 2021 | The Public Health Study Tour (PHST) is a two-week intensive program for public health students to gain experience in the public health sector in Indonesia. This virtual study tour will provide an introduction to the public health challenges currently facing Indonesia, including the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as existing government, international and community-led initiatives tasked with meeting these challenges. This is a unique opportunity for Australian students to hear from leading health professionals, policy-makers and community health workers in Indonesia, and to discuss approaches to health issues with Indonesian counterparts. The two-week intensive virtual tour is made up of a comprehensive seminar series, and a number of virtual field visits to health care facilities, organisations and schools in Indonesia which provide students with the opportunity to see first-hand how the public health system works in Indonesia and to understand the complex challenges it faces.
