Advanced occupational therapy practice

Your qualification will be a Master of Advanced Occupational Therapy Practice

In this specialisation, experienced occupational therapists will develop advanced knowledge and skills in the areas of human occupation and health, hand-therapy theory, and adaptive and assistive technology. A key topic area is children with disabilities.You will focus on the impact that these impairments have on the daily life, through careful evaluation of individual cases, you will explore ways to facilitate participation and help the child improve their capabilities. This specialisation is currently offered only on campus to domestic and international students.

Students on an international visa may apply to study the Midwifery specialisation either in Australia on campus, or from your home country via online mode.

Other specialisations are not available to international students in Australia on a student visa (however, these other specialisations may be studied via online mode from your home country).

Entry requirements

Depending on prior qualifications:

Entry level 1: 

Duration: 1.5 years full-time, 3 years part-time (72 points to complete)

A Australian Bachelor Degree in a cognate discipline (or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution) with a 60% credit average

AND

Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or equivalent accredited Professional Registration Body.

AND

A minimum of two years equivalent full time experience in the cognate discipline and evidence of current engagement in Clinical Practice in area of specialisation.

Entry level 2: 

Duration: 1 year full-time, 2 years part-time (48 points)

A four year Australian Bachelor Degree in the cognate discipline (or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution) with a 60% credit average

OR

A three year Australian Bachelor degree and a Graduate Diploma or Masters qualifying Degree in a cognate discipline, with a 60% credit average in both disciplines.

AND

Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or equivalent accredited Professional Registration Body.

AND

A minimum of two years equivalent full time experience in the cognate discipline and evidence of current engagement in Clinical Practice in area of specialisation.
