Advanced radiation therapy practice

Your qualification will be a Master of Advanced Radiation Therapy Practice

The Master of Advanced Radiation Therapy Practice is a postgraduate award. The course is taught in English, and usually takes one-and-a–half years of full-time study or three years of part-time study. Graduates gain deepened knowledge and skills in advanced elements of radiation therapy focussed patient care, clinical leadership, clinical education and radiation therapy service delivery. They complete a core unit focussing on the necessary skills for advanced health care practice and management and then choose either further profession specific coursework units or the opportunity to complete a research informed project or minor thesis. The Master of Advanced Radiation Therapy Practice is a Level 9 Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) qualification.

Entry requirements

Depending on prior qualifications:

Entry level 1:

Duration: 1.5 years full-time, 3 years part-time (72 points to complete)

A Australian Bachelor Degree in a cognate discipline (or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution) with a 60% credit average

AND

Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or equivalent accredited Professional Registration Body.

AND

A minimum of two years equivalent full time experience in the cognate discipline and evidence of current engagement in Clinical Practice in area of specialisation.

Entry level 2:

Duration: 1 year full-time, 2 years part-time (48 points)

A four year Australian Bachelor Degree in the cognate discipline (or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution) with a 60% credit average

OR

A three year Australian Bachelor degree and a Graduate Diploma or Masters qualifying Degree in a cognate discipline, with a 60% credit average in both disciplines.

AND

Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or equivalent accredited Professional Registration Body.

AND

A minimum of two years equivalent full time experience in the cognate discipline and evidence of current engagement in Clinical Practice in area of specialisation.
