What you’ll be qualified for

Your qualification will be a Master of Teaching in Early Childhood Education. You’ll be able to teach infants and children from birth to five years of age in childcare, kindergartens and preschools.

What you’ll be learning

You’ll study the fundamentals of early childhood education. You’ll learn how to put current education policies and priorities into practice, and build the skills to bring out the best in the youngest learners.

Drawing on contemporary theories, concepts and practices, you’ll dive into the learning process and the aspects that influence it. Along the way, you’ll gain an appreciation of the power and positive impact teaching can have on a child’s development in their early years.

You’ll also explore the importance of literacy, numeracy and play in education, and the role digital technology can have in enhancing learning.

With 60 days of supervised teaching practice in early childhood settings, you’ll get a chance to put theory into practice and get a real taste for what teaching looks like out in the field.
