In this degree you’ll gain advanced accounting knowledge and expand on the expertise acquired throughout your undergraduate studies, which will help you take the next step in your accounting career.
You’ll develop key skills across specialist fields of practice, ranging from accounting information systems and financial accounting, to forensic accounting, auditing and management accounting. You’ll also combine high-level research with practical experience and cover the latest applications to further expand your accounting expertise and boost your career potential.
The course also offers you a fast-track route to complete your professional recognition with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Depending on prior qualifications:
Entry level 1: | An Australian bachelor degree or an equivalent qualification with a major in accounting and achieved a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65 or an equivalent Grade Point Average as approved by the Monash Business School. Admission is competitive and applicants will be ranked and selected based on their entire academic record. |
Entry level 2: | Applicants must meet the requirements for admission at entry level 1 and have completed a qualification which satisfies the educational requirements for entry to one of the following professional accounting programs or a recognised professional accounting program approved by the faculty;

Entry level 3: | Applicants must meet the requirements for admission at entry level 1 and have completed an Australian graduate certificate in accounting (or equivalent). OR Applicants must meet the requirements for admission at entry level 1 and have completed a one-year honours degree in accounting (or equivalent) having achieved at least a second class division A (or equivalent). OR Applicants must meet the requirements for admission at entry level 1 and have completed one of the following, or a recognised professional accounting program approved by the:

Extra Requirements
Applicants must prepare a Candidate Statement in which they are required to demonstrate that they possess the motivation and academic skills required to successfully complete the program.
Admission is competitive and all applications will be ranked and selected based on their entire academic record and the Candidate Statement.
The course is structured in three parts: Part A. Advanced preparatory, Part B. Mastery knowledge and Part C. Application studies.

Enrolment Obligations
International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than one third (33%) of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students must enrol in at least one unit that is not by distance and/or online in each compulsory study period unless the student is completing the last unit of their course.
