The Graduate Certificate of Biotechnology integrates biotechnology and entrepreneurship through a range of multidisciplinary coursework units. You will be taught theoretical knowledge and practical skills in contemporary fields of biotechnology, and the processes involved in obtaining research funding and translating biomedical products from lab to life.

You need to satisfy the following entrance requirements to be considered for entry to this course.

Minimum Entry Requirements (Domestic students)

Qualifications

An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area of study* with at least a credit (60%) average.

*Areas of study include a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following:

  • Biomedical Science
  • Science/Applied Science with a major in (biochemistry, Biotechnology, Developmental biology, Human Biology, Marine Biology, Human Pathology, Genetics, Pharmacology, Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Physiology and Zoology)
  • Nutrition Sciences,
  • Dietetics
  • Veterinary Science
  • Medical Engineering
  • Pharmacy
  • Bioengineering
  • Biotechnology
  • Life Science
  • Clinical Medicine
  • Dental Science/Dentistry

English requirements

Successful completion and pass in a Year 12 English unit, or successful completion and pass in a 1st year tertiary education unit taught in English.

University entrance requirements

Minimum entrance requirements for admission to Monash University Australia.

The course comprises 24 points of core biotechnology studies.

You may apply to transfer from another Monash course. Transfers are a competitive process. You may apply mid-year for available courses however consideration will be given as to whether you will be able to follow your course progression.

Full fee

Total fee for this 24 credit point (12 months part-time) course A$14,950.  

The equivalent fee for a 48 credit point (12 month full-time) course would be A$29,900.
