This course is not available to international students who are holders of an Australian student visa, for study onshore in Australia. However, holders of some other categories of Australian visas living in Australia, and students studying online and living outside of Australia, may be eligible for this course.

The Graduate Diploma of Data Science covers core units in data analysis, data wrangling and data modelling, combining this study with electives following big data and machine learning streams. Develop the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge and techniques and gain the practical experience to impact organisations from day one.

Minimum Entry Requirements (International students)

Qualifications

An Australian bachelor degree with at least a credit (60%) average (or equivalent) in a discipline relating to one of IT, business (with mathematics), Economics, Econometrics, Engineering, or Science degree with completed studies in at least one of mathematics, programming or databases or equivalent qualification approved by the faculty.

OR

An Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with at least a credit (60%) average; plus two years of professional work experience in programming or databases or equivalent qualification approved by the faculty.

IELTS (Academic): 6.5 Overall score, with minimum band scores: Listening 6.0, Reading 6.0, Writing 6.0 and Speaking 6.0 Pearson Test of English (Academic): 58 Overall score, with minimum scores: Listening 50, Reading 50, Speaking 50 and Writing 50TOEFL Internet-based test: 79 Overall score, with minimum scores: Reading 13, Listening 12, Speaking 18 and Writing 21 Equivalent approved English test

University entrance requirements

Minimum entrance requirements for admission to Monash University Australia.

This course consists of eight units. You complete core studies in introductory data science, data wrangling and statistical data modelling, then select units from across a range of areas where you can tailor the course to suit your own interests. Your choice of units covers studies in data exploration and visualisation, distributed and big data processing and data analysis and data management.

If you do not meet course requirements in programming, databases or mathematics/statistics, you must complete up to a maximum of two foundation units prior to commencing your core studies.
