Ethics for translators - PDA1014

The online PD short course examines the ethical complexities of the translator’s work in relation to theoretical concepts and the AUSIT Code of Ethics. The course analyses ethical concepts, their practical application to translation work, and best practice for translators in ethically challenging scenarios.

Designed to be completed on your own time, the course includes presentations from leading academics and professionals in the field, short online quizzes, real-life simulated podcasts, short self-reflections and online discussions with your peers.

You will complete a variety of online practical tasks during the course.

Recognition:

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be eligible to earn 20 PD Points (Section 2.20) of the NAATI Recertification Professional Development Catalogue. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded.

Course Structure

This course comprises over four hours of self-directed learning.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be eligible to earn 20 PD Points (Section 2.2) of the NAATI Recertification Professional Development Catalogue.

A Certificate of Completion will be issued to those that meet the requirements of the course.

This professional development short course is delivered with the support of the State Government of Victoria through the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.

These activities must be completed within a two weeks period, successful participants are able to claim 20 PD points towards NAATI recertification.
