Doctorate/PhD
Monash University has a proud tradition of research excellence, and is committed to providing the highest quality of graduate research education. By undertaking your graduate studies at Monash, you will have the opportunity to be part of our stimulating, supportive and professional research environment.
Information Technology research has a multi-disciplinary, multi-campus and multi-national approach, providing Monash with a unique capacity to reach further and deeper than any other institution in Australia. We are internationally recognised for our research strengths in computational biology, IT for resilient communities, machine learning, and modelling, optimisation and visualisation ...
A PhD in IT takes the form of the Monash Doctoral Program – a PhD for the 21st century. The program consists of extensive, independent research on an agreed chosen topic, supported by a minimum of two academic supervisors. This is enhanced by professional development activities that provide you with the skills required to make an impact in academia, industry, government or the wider community. Your study will result in a research thesis or alternative approved output, which makes a valuable contribution to the current body of knowledge on your chosen topic. The award of the degree is generally accepted as showing you are capable of carrying out independent research.
