Perioperative Medicine - M6033
Master's degree
The course is designed to facilitate the delivery of collaborative and optimal perioperative care to patients presenting with complex, chronic and acute medical conditions requiring surgical intervention by physicians working in the emerging field of perioperative medicine. The course adopts an evidence base and risk-informed approach to the justification of perioperative medical interventions within the modern surgical setting. Additionally, the course aims to develop an understanding of the role of human factors and clinical leadership within this emerging medical discipline.
The course is conducted by Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at Monash University in conjunction with the Alfred Hospital's Department of Anaesthesiology. The course is recognised by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) and the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA).

You need to satisfy the following entrance requirements to be considered for entry to this course.
Minimum Entry Requirements (Domestic students)
Qualifications
An Australian MBBS or an equivalent basic medical degree recognised by the Medical Board of Australia or an equivalent qualification approved by the faculty.
AND
Two years completion of clinical hospital medicine.
English requirements
Applicants must also meet the English language requirements.
