If so, then Multimedia development is for you. Multimediadevelopers combine creativity, computing and communication to produce new mediapossibilities and experiences.

Whether you aspire to a career designing and developingwebsites, 3D interactive games, mobile apps, or social-media interfaces,Multimedia Development will show you how to creatively engage a contemporaryaudience. You'll learn to explore technology-led creativity for the digitaleconomy – gaining sophisticated technical understanding of digital technologiesand being given the creative freedom to develop your ideas.

Studies in digital imaging, sound and video, animation, 3D modelling and interactive media will provide the solid foundations you will need to analyse, design and implement sophisticated computer-based multimedia products.

You will work in project teams in a collaborative studio environment using cutting-edge technology. Multimedia development is a studio-focused major. You will learn to design and implement major creative computing projects, participate in practical projects and develop a creative portfolio that will enhance your employment prospects. You will develop the production, management and analytical skills needed for professional practice in the multimedia industry.

Multimedia developers are increasingly in demand to engage audiences within education, the arts and business. This makes Multimedia Development a good match to other areas of study across the University, including media, film studies, journalism and marketing. You might choose to enhance your creative and artistic skills through a double degree with Communication Design, Industrial Design or Visual Arts.

Or use the Multimedia Development major to add a creative element to your more technical Information Technology (IT) or Engineering studies or a practical IT element to Arts or Design fields.
