Your qualification will be a Bachelor of Spatial Design

Combine your creative ideas with design-thinking techniques to make dynamic spaces for people to inhabit.

You’ll explore the different spatial elements to create transformative, inspiring environments for deep connection and social cohesion. Explore different materials and consider how spatial elements effect aesthetics, mood and function. As a spatial designer you’ll work alongside a broad range of professionals as well as entertainment events, exhibitions, performances and public spaces.

Year 1: In first semester you’ll gain an introduction to spatial design supported by design theory, modes of practice, materials and production, digital processes and technology.

Year 2: In second year you’ll further explore your spatial design specialisation and complement your studies through a broad range of electives. You’ll also have the opportunity to gain industry experience and undertake practical placement.

Year 3: Your final year focuses on the application of advanced problem design skills at a professional level. You’ll also work on your final project for the graduating exhibition, MADA Now.
