Arts in Prato Travel Grant

Not sure if you’re going to be able to fund an overseas study experience? This scholarship provides $2000 to students undertaking a Faculty of Arts unit offered at the Prato Centre, Italy. There are three selection categories: equity, merit and Italian Studies (for students studying Italian Studies).

Am I eligible?

You must be one of the following:

  • An Australian citizen
  • A New Zealand citizen
  • Australian permanent resident
  • Australian humanitarian visa holder
  • An International student

You must meet the following criteria:

  • A current Monash undergraduate student enrolled at Monash Campus in Australia, who is undertaking at least one Faculty of Arts unit offered at the Prato Centre during their period of travel.
  • Specific units offered may vary on an annual basis.

Benefits

  • $2000 one-off payment to assist with the costs of study at the Prato Centre, Italy.

Selection criteria

Equity:

  • Australian or New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa.
  • From one or more of the following educational disadvantage groups:
    • Have a low income
    • Are a recent refugee
    • From a regional or remote area
    • Have a disability or medical condition
    • From a non-English speaking background
    • Have experienced difficult circumstances
    • From an underrepresented school

Merit:

  • Australian or New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa or international student.
  • Awarded to the highest achieving students on the basis of academic achievement (WAM for currently enrolled course).

Italian Studies:

  • Australian or New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa or international student.
  • Completion of 18 points of Italian Studies.
  • Awarded to the highest achieving students based on WAM of Italian Studies units completed.

To retain this scholarship:

  • You must not be receiving another travel scholarship besides the Monash Abroad Travel Scholarship.
  • You must enrol and complete one of the approved units in Prato.
