Samantha Taylor: Being the best you can be

When Indigenous student Samantha Taylor finished high school in regional Victoria, she knew moving closer to Monash to further her studies would be expensive.  With the Monash Scholarship for Outstanding Achievement – which covers her full tuition fees and travel costs from Gippsland – Samantha was able to move to Melbourne and further her studies at Monash.

Samantha is passionate about closing the gap and reducing the health inequality between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. “If I wasn’t at university now,” she says, “I’d probably still be working in Drouin. Coming to university has shown me that I can do more with my life.”
