Monash Joseph Gioscio Italian Grant

If you intend to pursue a full-time honours program or postgraduate (coursework) degree in Italian, you may be eligible for this scholarship. The Monash Joseph Gioscio Italian Scholarship was established within the Italian Program in Monash Arts to reward academic excellence and encourage students to pursue research studies in Italian through further study.

I didn’t realise there were so many scholarships available so I applied for as many as I could and did my best to obtain a high ATAR.

Am I eligible?

You must be one of the following:

  • An Australian citizen
  • A New Zealand citizen
  • Australian permanent resident
  • Australian humanitarian visa holder

You must meet the following criteria:

  • Intending to enrol or continue in a full-time honours program, or postgraduate (coursework) degree in Italian in the Faculty of Arts at a Monash campus in Australia.


$1000 for one year only.

Selection criteria

  • Based on academic achievement.
  • High distinction average (80% or above) in previous relevant studies.
  • Preference may be given to students enrolled in an honours program.

To retain this scholarship:

  • You must maintain a distinction average (70% or above) each semester.
  • You must maintain full-time enrolment.
