I'm enrolled, what next?
We will email your confirmation of enrolment pack in January. This will include your student ID number and instructions on how to set up an email account with Monash. The pack will also provide all the information you need to get a head start with Monash Extension.
We invite and encourage successful applicants to come to Orientation Day in January 2017. The day will cover information about exams, study skills, library use and information technology services.
Setting up a Monash email account
You must set up a Monash email account as soon as your enrolment is confirmed. The University will only send emails to your my.Monash account. It's also the only place you can access important information on enrolment, changes, class times, exams, assessments and results. Even if you use another email account, check your Monash email regularly.
When do classes start?
Most Extension subjects located at Monash University start in the first week of university semester one. In 2017 this will be in the week beginning Monday, 27 February. The Extension Accounting and Mathematics subjects may start earlier - more information will be given to you when you enrol in January.
If your Extension subject is located at a school centre (e.g. you're studying Chemistry at the Padua College extension centre), your subject may start up to a month earlier, in line with school term one. In 2017 this will be in the week beginning Monday, 30 January. More information will be given to you when you enrol in January.
How am I assessed?
Exams and assessment
Your assessment and grades depend on the units you take. Most Extension units have an end-of-semester exam as well as research reports, lab work and essays. Some units may have team assessment requirements.
It's important to find out how assessments will work early in semester. Ask your teacher or unit coordinator if you are unclear or would like more information.
Visit the key dates page to find out when your results will be released.
You can buy a statement of results from Monash Connect at the end of the academic year. You can also access your results via the my.monash portal.
Failing or withdrawing from Monash Extension will not affect any future tertiary selection in any way. The Monash Extension subject will be deleted from your university record.
Students who wish to withdraw must do so, in writing, before 31 March in order to have their enrolment fee refunded. There will be no refund of the enrolment fee after 31 March.
