  • Human behaviour lies at the root of many of the greatest challenges and opportunities faced by society today.

As a multidisciplinary research enterprise within the Monash Sustainable Development Institute, BehaviourWorks Australia (BWA) brings leading behaviour change researchers from Monash University together with practitioners in government and industry to explore and understand the human side of everyday problems and identify who needs to do what differently.

Established in 2011, BehaviourWorks Australia is now the largest applied behaviour change research unit in Australia with a large portfolio of projects completed in the areas of health, sustainability, social well-being and finance.

As part of MSDI, BWA endeavours to support its efforts to address the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals by conducting research and providing knowledge on how behavioural science can be used to tackle SDG-related problems.
