ClimateWorks Australia joins major new international project

ClimateWorks Australia is excited to join a major new international project with the Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU) to map international and national pathways towards more sustainable land and food systems.

The FABLE project within this will map integrated pathways for Food, Agriculture, Biodiversity, Land and Energy.

It is co-led by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) with whom ClimateWorks partnered for the successful Deep Decarbonisation Pathways Project in 2014, which designed pathways for the energy system.

Focusing on land systems, the project will help complete the information needed for implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement. It ambitiously asks how we can achieve net zero emissions on the land, while feeding the world’s population and staying within planetary boundaries.

ClimateWorks will seek funding to produce an integrated framework for ongoing analysis of the food and land-use economy in Australia, drawing together the many examples of best practice and working with industry and government stakeholders to find opportunities to scale up priority actions. They will again partner with CSIRO to draw on their extensive modelling capacity.
