Powering the next generation

In response to the electricity sector’s ageing infrastructure and welcomed trend towards decarbonisation, Monash launches the Grid Innovation Hub with key industry players.
Leveraging off the Net Zero Initiative, the high-tech hub combines data science, network security and grid planning technologies to create a ‘living laboratory’. It’s envisaged the three-year program will create affordable, secure and sustainable energy solutions that are transferable worldwide.
Vice Chancellor, Professor Margaret Gardner AO, acknowledges the lab as vital for advancing the country’s leadership in energy innovation and training the next generation of professionals.
Founding partners of the Grid Innovation Hub include AusNet Services, Advisian, Indra, redT energy, Senvion Australia and GE and Energy Exemplar.
