O-Week with a twist
On top of the usual orientation activities, Monash South Africa students took their energies to Zandspruit, an informal settlement that is home to more than 2000 families. Cleaning up the town, talking to the children, and painting the local creche were all part of the day’s events.
MSA Community Engagement Coordinator Bronwyn Du Rand said it brought great joy to the students to be able to make a difference. “It is always a pleasure to see the appreciative eyes of the children," Ms Du Rand said. "This has been one experience that is mind blowing as we see the joy that we bring to these children.”
