FEAR - Fear, Emotion, Anxiety, Research
The FEAR Lab is housed in the School of Psychological Sciences/Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health at Monash University, and directed by Professor Peter Norton. The primary aim of the lab is to investigate novel and refined treatments for anxiety, depression, and related emotional disorders, as well as factors related to the development and maintenance of these emotional disorders.
The Monash FEAR Clinic is a specialty treatment and research clinic housed within the Monash Psychology Centre. The FEAR Clinic opened in 2016, and serves three primary purposes:
- providing low-cost state-of-the-art Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy for the treatment of anxiety, depression, and related emotional disorders
- conducting research to better understand anxiety, depression, and related emotional disorders, as well as improve treatment options and outcomes
- training postgraduate students to deliver the most powerful treatments for anxiety, depression, and related emotional disorders
