Supporting children's early development and learning
Our researchers are developing a new touch screen digital program aimed at strengthening executive functioning in children. Executive functions are the cognitive skills that help children to concentrate, learn and develop social skills. We want to know what children think about the program and if it can help them to improve these executive function skills. Our goal is to reduce the challenges that children with poor executive functions face and to improve outcomes for all primary-school children.
Who can be involved?
We are looking for 150 families and 15 schools across remote, regional and metropolitan regions of Victoria to take part in this exciting research. All Grade 1 & 2 children, their families and educators are invited to take part.
All families are welcome and we particularly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to get involved with this project to ensure your voices are heard and we can better understand how to meet your needs. We would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which we will be conducting our research and pay our respects to their Elders, past and present.
The project will take place in two phases. We are inviting families to be involved in either one or both phases of the project.
