DRIVERS 2022

Doctors for Regional Innovation, Vision, Excellence, Research & Scholarship Saturday 22 October 2022

What is DRIVERS 2022?

DRIVERS 2022 is a day to explore academic innovation and excellence in regional medicine, and an evening to celebrate our vision with an awards ceremony, accompanied by some of Bendigo’s best food, drinks and entertainment.

DRIVERS 2022 is hosted by Monash Rural Health  on Saturday 22 October 2022, in Bendigo.

Monash University and The DRIVERS Committees proudly acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the Bendigo region, the Dja Dja Wurrung People; their rich culture, heritage and continual relationship with the country, lands and waters. We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present. We further extend our respect to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and cultures across the reach of the DRIVERS footprint.Medical student laughing

Presenters at DRIVERS conference showcase their academic, research and quality improvement achievements and investigations in front of an audience of peers and colleagues. This will be a hybrid event, combining the best of both face-to-face and online conferences to enable the broadest participation possible.

Engagement with DRIVERS conference is an exciting professional development opportunity and CV boost for rural and regional junior doctors, registrars, fellows, consultants and medical students from south eastern Australia (Victoria, Tasmania, eastern South Australia, and New South Wales). We also welcome engagement with nursing, allied health, medical and health research professionals in this regional footprint.

DRIVERS 2022 showcases work in three presentation streams:

  • Scientific Presentations – Longer dynamic oral presentations, sharp rapid fire poster presentations and a broad poster display of current regional scholarship.
  • Reflective presentations – Showcasing Vision, Innovation and Excellence - for discussion of prior insights or activities relating to  improving quality in rural and regional healthcare
  • Case study presentations – Lightning talks delivering key clinical messages - for discussion of case studies with lessons for rural and regional healthcare.
