About the exhibition
Eminent scientific researchers in the field of palaeontology, Patricia Vickers-Rich (Monash University) and Tom Rich (Museums Victoria) had a longstanding collaboration with artist Peter Trusler, a specialist in palaeontological reconstruction art. Combining his eye for fine detail with his training in zoology and anatomy, Trusler worked with fossils and scientific information to illustrate prehistoric life and fauna. Dinosaur Days sought to recreate a vision of what is now the South Coast of Victoria as it was over a hundred million years ago. Having made many exhibitions and reconstructions together, Rich, Trusler and Vickers-Rich went on to publish The Artist and the Scientists: Bringing Prehistory to Life with Cambridge University Press in 2010.
