About the exhibition
This group exhibition of six contemporary Australian artists working in photography, sculpture and painting embraced a sense of wonder and possibility, drawing attention to perception through intricate details, shifts in scale and particular points of focus.

Rather than following a specific theme, the works in Into the Blue cohered together in a way that curator Linda Michael described as a ‘harmony of contrasts’. In her catalogue essay, Michael referenced the five qualities of literature identified by author Italo Calvino in his book Six Memos for the Next Millenium as lightness,  quickness, exactitude, visibility and multiplicity, arguing that these qualities could be fruitfully applied to the works in the exhibition to find points of specificity and connection.
