About the exhibition
Feedback: Art, Social Consciousness and Resistance was developed by guest curator Charlotte Day in response to global conditions of conflict, crisis politics and trauma highlighted by events such as the 9/11 attacks on New York in 2001 and the Bali bombings in 2002. In the context of such unsettling global circumstances, the exhibition sought to question the capacity of artists to respond to confronting issues , and to ask: what role is there for art in such a time?

The artists in Feedback examined the relationship between world events and individual experiences. Collectively, the works in the exhibition presented a range of emotional and personal responses in their respective navigations of ‘truth’, public events, media commentary and human experience.
