About the exhibition
This exhibition featured a selection of Patricia Piccinini’s photographs from 1995 to 2000, transporting viewers into a fully synthetic world of species manipulation and artificial life forms. Entirely digitally composed and computer-enhanced, the works draw on the visual language of advertising and consumer culture to engage with contemporaneous scientific developments, such as the Human Genome Project.

In Lumpland, 1995, Piccinini presents five iterations of her own perfected and personalised designer babies, while in Protein Lattice series, 1997, attractive models pose with rodents bearing human ears growing from their backs.

Love Me Love My Lump was presented across Monash University Prato Centre and Dryphoto arte contemporanea in Prato, Italy, to coincide with Piccinini’s presentation at the Australia Pavilion during the 50th Venice Biennale.
