THREEFOLDparallelperformance - Space or Place?

Wednesday 27 March 2019, 6.30pm
Free entry

Over three nights in March 2019, the THREEFOLDParallelPerformance series of panels were presented as performative gatherings (playful, possibly political) in parallel with the exhibition Shapes of Knowledge. Live drawings were made by Oslo Davis and Angharad Neil-Williams.

On the final evening, titled ‘Space or Place?’, the concept of the University was considered through the eyes of artists, academics, illustrators and guests.

The gathering generated a conversation on the culture dimensions of shared and imagined public goods, such as space, education and even safety. In particular, it considered creative and cultural frictions that exist between place and space, the commons and the private, the community and the individual. Short, performative and playful responses were presented on to the key question: should we privilege space or place?

Host: James Oliver
Illustrator: Oslo Davis
Georgie Meagher (artist and producer)
