Join us for the launch of Outbound: Essays in Circulation, MUMA's new annual series of ideas-led texts developed in conversation with exhibitions.

For Volume 1, Speculative Ecology: The Challenge of Aesthetics in an Era of Fundamentalism, philosopher Claire Colebrook reopens ecology as a speculative question, challenging assumptions about nature, the environment and humanity as self-evident foundations for politics and ethics.

To mark the launch, Claire Colebrook will present a lecture on Speculative Ecology.

Claire Colebrook is Cecile Parrish Memorial Chair of English Literature at Monash University. She has published extensively on contemporary European philosophy, literary theory, gender studies, queer theory, visual culture and feminist philosophy. Her most recent book is Who Would You Kill to Save the World? (2023).

Co-published with Perimeter Editions, the publication is produced in dialogue with Syncretic Wilds: Phasmahammer and Natasha Tontey.
