Research planning and adaptation

Information on how to pivot research, make complex decisions and conduct risk impact assessments

Research continuity principles

1. Follow the overall University guidelines on COVID-19.

2. Protect the health and wellbeing of staff, students, study participants and communities, including mental health.

3. Ensure essential services for labs continue to be maintained.

4. Ensure data samples are managed, protected and preserved.

5. Complete existing campaigns where possible using existing government guidelines (sanitation, distancing etc) - consider whether these can continue remotely for your project (eg via Zoom).

6. Consider a plan for research activities that can be done remotely - data analysis, literature review, milestone reporting.

7. Develop a staged plan for Australian and international staff activities over the coming months for research continuity.

8. Communicate regularly and with sensitivity to your teams and stakeholders in line with the UniversityGuidelines  (which are being updated regularly).
