Evidence Synthesis, Qualitative and Implementation Methods

Back to research highlights

This Division houses researchers specialising in the use of evidence synthesis, qualitative methods and implementation science to understand the full lived experience of health system users and workers. We maximise research value by synthesising existing literature, and drive translation of results into policies, guidelines and clinical practices that improve social care and public health outcomes.

We’re home to Cochrane Australia, producer of world leading systematic reviews, and the National COVID-19 Clinical Evidence Taskforce, using a living evidence model to generate the most current, evidence-based COVID-19 guidelines available. Our social care researchers work with community stakeholders and care providers to improve care and connectedness for some of Australia’s most vulnerable groups.

Our research groups:

  • The value of humour in public health messaging

  • Centre of Research Excellence to improve health during preconception and pregnancy

  • Preconception health is key for healthy parents and children

  • Cochrane Review shows antidepressants lack efficacy in children and teens; so what works?

  • Victorian Government to invest in Australian Living Evidence Consortium

  • Exceptional local and global collaboration delivers the new PRISMA 2020 statement

  • Medical student relay delivers Cochrane Review into mindfulness for young doctors
